Since Reno is putting the tracks in the trench, is it possible to relocate the crew and engineer change to Reno once the track is complete?

The crew (conductors) already change at Reno and then Salt Lake City. The engineer runs further than Reno, changing at Winnemucca, NV and then Helper, UT I believe.

Why they do it this way I don't know. Anyway, the conductors will continue to change at Reno even after the Retrac project is completed. If you ever go to see a show at the Golden Phoenix Casino/Hotel in downtown Reno, you will notice a little black door off to the side of the showroom entrance that says "Amtrak Crew".
