Today's #1 (9/13) appears to have been rerouted between Rosenberg, TX and San Antonio, TX. From Rosenberg, it left the UP line and headed northwest on the BNSF Galveston Sub, to Sealy where it turned west on the UP line (not sure what subdivision that is). From Sealy, it headed west through La Grange and onto Smithville, where it turned southwest towards San Marcos on the Lockhart Sub. At San Marcos, it will turn south towards San Antonio on the Austin Sub along the Eagle's route. I'm curious if they'll route it into San Antonio against the current of traffic on the Austin Sub; if they don't, it will be facing the wrong way in San Antonio.
I'm curious to how often (if ever) this is done. I wonder what caused it tonight.
