Is this heaven? No. It's Iowa.
I wonder how the SWC lost close to 7 hours between Garden City,KS and Lamar, CO, which are just 100 miles apart.

It's some 11 hrs late now and is projected to reach LA 8 hours late tomorrow.

We know they had to return to Chicago to swap out a defective coach and lost three hours. The rest of the delay smells like engine trouble to me. I'm curious myself.

Disabled track equipment and the ensuing congestion and weather related issues accounted for that chunk of delay.

Major snowstorm in western Kansas has closed Eastbound I-70 at the Colorado/Kansas border.

There is more info and pictures on different post on Amtrak Facebook pages.
