Lunch is not served departing CHI - the 1st meal served is dinner. Hours for meals are 6:30 AM to 9 AM (with the exception being arrival into LAX - see below), 11:30 AM to 2 PM or so and 5:30 to 8 PM or so. Dinner is always by reservation, lunch may or may not be and breakfast is first come first served. (Reservations are always started in the sleepers, coach passengers get the remaining times, if any.)

Due to the early arrival into LAX, an abbreviated breakfast is served on that final morning. On that day, breakfast usually starts about 5 AM and ends about 6 AM. And not all menu items are available either.

I think that I'll just sleep in that final day and then walk over to Phillipe's (after checking my bags) for a nice french dip. :)

It looks like I'll be a couple of days ahead of you Scott (leaving CHI tomorrow).

As much as I like a nice French dip sandwich, I can't imagine having one for breakfast.

I would have trouble having a French dip sandwich (with hot mustard!) for breakfast. If I'm going to Phillipe's that early in the day, I'll have one of their breakfasts.

I've rarely had a better breakfast than Phillipe's lamb French dip, with lots of their special hot mustard.
I was just about to post something along those lines. I was there just a few weeks ago enjoying a beef dip for breakfast when I noticed the woman behind the counter hand-slicing some lamb for a sandwich. She was explaining to another customer that all the other meats are sliced in the back with a meat slicer but the lamb is all hand-sliced. I was thinking to myself, "I gotta try me some of that". Double-dipped of course, thank you very much... :D

Last call for breakfast on 3 is usually upon departure from Riverside, which is around 6:30 am.
