Texas Eagle cancelled Sun, Mon, Tue?

I just tried a few minutes ago to make reservations for the Texas Eagle from Illinois down to Marshall Texas early next week (Sun, Mon, or Tue). It shows that all or a portion of the route have been canceled and didn’t allow me to make any reservations. Anybody know what’s going on? Flooding?

It's possible the train is still rerouting due to track work near the metroplex.

The detour would start at Longview, which is after Marshall, going west.

That detour was in place when I rode it a few weeks ago from Carlinville IL to Marshall TX. I got off 1 stop before the detour. So it must be something else...

A track project will now cause a detour that impacts the Eagle and the Lincoln Service.

Ok - thanks everyone for the help. Looks like for a short period time next week, you’ll only be able to board the Eagle in Chicago or south of and including St. Louis.

Looks like I’ll be driving to St. Louis or flying and paying exorbitant rates. If it wasn’t Easter Sunday, I would just take the long route thru Chicago and enjoy the ride.

UP is doing track work. This is the usual detour. It follows the old C&EI route which is now owned by UP. It goes through watseka, and eventually crosses CN (ic) at tolono iirc. Rejoins the regular route between Alton and St. Louis.

As was said,due to track work, the Eagle will be rerouted thru Amish Country, a nice but slow route for those that haven't been on it!

Bustitutions for the Lincoln trains between STL and CHI.
