Texas Eagle on time?

I'm considering taking the Texas Eagle from Longview to Chicago - I've got the timeframe to do it, but I need to arrive basically on time. Any thoughts?

For the last few months, the Eagle has been early at Texas stations. Anything can happen, but right now things look good for on-time

The Texas Eagle has significantly improved its on time performance for the last few months. But you say you have to arrive on time. Well ask yourself if you can afford to miss your appointment if its not. If you can't then I would say travel the day before.
