The Cardinal Train # 51 & 50, meals?

I was just wondering how many meals they serve going west on 51?
Breakfast, Lunch, Supper, and breakfast coming into Chicago
The same for going east on 50 supper, breakfast, lunch, and supper if you were going to NYP?

I believe so, 4 meals for the entire NYP-CHI (or reverse) trip on the Cardinal.

To go slightly off topic, I am on a road trip and stopped in Staunton VA for lunch yesterday and see 50 and51. Both trains had 2 back to back cars marked cafes.

I asked the conductor about it, nice guy named Leonard Claytor. Said the one next to the sleeper was used as BC, presumably one of those nice ones with 2/1 seating and cafe and a few tables at opposite end.

So does that make the lowly Cardinal with what is a essentially a lounge area for sleeper/BC passengers? Both trains OT

Yes, the last time I rode it(last November) that was how it was configured. The BC car was also the sleeper dining car.

What does BC in BC car stand for? I'm not intelligent enough to determine that from context.

BC = Business Class. It's supposed to be one step above Coach Class.
