My most humble apologies for getting the thread back on track (pun entirely intended 
but I prefer Superliners to Viewliners and bedrooms to roomettes. And as to the particular room, I have no preference in which bedroom I have, as to me they're all the same. If in a roomette, no preference in Viewliners. In Superliners, I have a slight preference toward #2, as it's closest to the bathrooms.

Roomettes 1,2,11 and 12. Its not that I like the numbers 1 and 2, its that they each have only one neighbor - if one does not count the SCA next to 12.
We tend to favor the Viewliner bedrooms for the extra space over the bathroom and the window/extra room on the top bunk.
Superliner bedrooms are acceptable but when you board at odd unmanned stops as we do, we must rely on the baggage rack on the lower level. So far its proven OK but when you have fancy luggage, you have to be somewhat concerned with possible theft.

My wife and I are strictly roomette travelers due to the huge points differential between roomettes and bedrooms with AGR... and we vastly prefer the Viewliner roomettes. My wife appreciates not having to go out into the hallway to pee at night. I generally take the upper berth, and I love the upper berth window in the Viewliner roomettes... sometimes I awaken in the middle of the night just to watch a cityscape go by. In contrast, the upper berth in top-floor Superliner roomettes is a something of a coffin-like experience.

Viewliner - MUCH prefer the upper berth, not only for the window but because it is roomier. And, I do like the toilet in the room.
Superliner - A more comfortable and roomier space.
Bottom line - so long as I'm on a train I'm happy.

On my last trip I booked AGR last minute and snagged the last room, the H-room, on the Crescent. I was travelling with my friend who is 6'2" and we were coming off room 7 on the Capitol Limited. He had seemed uncomfortable in the roomette but was excited with the space in the H-room. Neither of us could touch the ceiling or walls when we stretched out. We had plenty of space to get up and move, and on the upper bunk I didn't feel like I was in a steel coffin like on the upper-level Superliner bunks (though this is true of all VL bunks).

We get a Viewliner roomette together and two roomettes across from each other on the Superliners. (never appreciated the upper bunk on the Superliner)
So we like both if we do it this way.

Having just spent overnights in both the LSL (Viewliner) and EB (Superliner) on an extended trip from Boston to Portland, OR, I have altered my earlier opinion.
Getting off one and onto the other made it clear (at least to me) that the roommette in the Viewliner car is slightly preferable. In the double-deck Superliner there is less storage, less room for passengers, and a bumpier (or more "swaying") ride. It does seem that the beds are a bit more comfortable (thicker mattress), but there is still that windowless, tiny upper berth. One advantage of the Superliner (due to its height) is that you get a somewhat better view from the upstairs units.
