I have had the incredible good fortune to have been able to spend a couple of days in Kanchanaburi and traveling this line all the way to Nam Tok, the current end of line, and back. I wanted to go all the way to Three Pagodas Pass by road, but unfortunately that was not possible.
I came across this excellent documentary on this tragic railway line built during the Second World War and operated only for a short time. The documentary also has a lot of excellent footage of the Myanmar Railway and history of the line from Thanbyuziat, where the Death Railway joined the then Burma Railway all the way to Yangon (then Rangoon)
