Thruway Bus Points?

Yes you do get points for Thruway connections, but you frequently have to call AGR up to deal with them, perhaps even mailing/faxing in copies of your ticket stubs. DON'T mail the originals, as if they loose them then you no longer have any proof.

Do we receive points for taking an Amtrak Thruway Bus? During my trip I took 3 buses and none of them have showed up. I even put in the missing points request, and no luck.
In my experience, the Thruway segment points take longer to appear than those for the regular rail segments, but they do appear eventually.

Give it about a month or six weeks after your rail points post. If they still haven't showed up by that time, I'd follow up with AGR.

Well I just called AGR and the guy gave me 300 'goodwill' points. Then I said they were during bonus point time so he randomly added another 267 points. Huh?! Then I realized that my 300 goodwill points don't count toward select status, so I called them back. This time he actually asked for the ticket numbers and said it could take 30 days for them to post. It was then I realized, two of the three bus trips were before the Spring promotion. And the third would be my 4th qualifying trip to get bumped up to triple points. So I'm wondering if it will take that long. Pretty soon they will be going through to add to triple points after my 4th qualifying trip, but it won't be there.

Blah! End of rant! I want the old contractor back.

Start rant again:

How is it possible that it takes thirty days to post a missing trip? They have the ticket number and the PNR. That's all they need. Either the request is valid or it's not. Is there one poor, bedraggled Canadian clerk that has an inbox with a pile of credit requests so huge that takes 30 days to get from the bottom to the top? Probably they hope that when the thirty days is up and your trip still has not posed, that you will just forget about it.

No matter how much someone like Amtrak, AGR is sadly a shoddy operation.

End rant again.
