To get to UPenn hospital, should I take SEPTA or LUCY?

I will be visiting a patient at the University of Pennsylvania hospital on Thursday. It looks like I could get off SEPTA regional rail at University City, then do a short walk to the hospital. But it looks like the Lucy loop bus stops right at the hospital.

Although I visit Philly a lot, I have never been west of 30th Street station. I don't mind walking, and I know the area has been spruced up a bit from years past, but I am still concerned about how safe it would be to walk from the University City station. I also have never taken the Lucy loop bus and don't know where to board it.

Also, I have a SEPTA one-day independence pass that I have never used--can I use it on those routes, or is there an extra charge?

Any advice would be appreciated....thanks very much.

Both options are safe enough, this decade. I don't remember where the LUCY stops. The SEPTA pass should be good for all of those options, including the LUCY.

The only restriction is in the morning: "*Not valid on Regional Rail trains arriving Center City Philadelphia weekdays before 9:30 a.m." or going to New Jersey.

Check your PM's...
Don't be telling a woman to check her PMS...oh, you said PMs. :giggle:
You would say that Betty! My Mom sent myself some recipes for dinners that both Sam and I like, that of course I lost during our move. One of them was a recipe for "Mince Meat Pie" I tried to call her and tell her that she was "Sick in the head for sending that recipe". Simply cause My Father was the only person in the family that would eat it! We all thought and still think it's gross! :)
