Tracking freight trains

I know almost nothing about the freight train industry. I barely know how to track Amtrak passenger trains online! Is there a way someone like me could find out online when freight trains are due to pass any particular station? Just asking…

Not really, most freight trains operate as "Extras" that don't have a set schedule. Those that do are not public information, and freight railroads generally don't keep to their own schedules.
