Regarding Chao, she has a reputation for being reasonable (rather than a know-nothing ideologue), so hey, we'll probably be OK on transportation.

Sorry if this has been posted before. I think the thrust of it is on target. Trump and Cuomo despite differences in politics both have the "ediface complex". Of course the Pres. does not control the purse strings, this one doesnt even control his party. Unlikely that Trump or Chao would "derail" the big NEC projects. As far as LD, it will probably be the same battles as always.

South of the Lake might just possibly be a sufficiently grandiose project, if presented correctly.

This is committee approval for now. The full senate has not scheduled a vote yet, but approval is all but certain.
Maybe she can get her husband to throw Amtrak and Rail Projects some $$$$???

As long as she doesn't take orders from her old employer, the Heritage Foundation, which want to get rid of all transit and rail spending.
No one has been capable of killing Amtrak in 45 years. Doubt it'll happen in the next 4. Trump wants Amtrak to be Great Again!
