Can anyone tell me how long it takes on the train to get from Jacksonville Florida to Yosemite national park
Actually if you do all that you say, it isSee my post to your original post above
If you leave Jacksonville at 5pm on the Meteor--arrive in WAS around 6:30am the next morning. All day in WAS, then catch the Capitol Ltd at 4:00pm to Chicago, arriving around 8:30am the next morning.
Board the California Zephyr at 2pm that afternoon. Arrive in Denver the next morning at 7:30am. Leave Denver that morning and arrive in Reno the next morning at 8:30am. (after a beautiful day of riding through the Colorado Rockies).
Arrive in Sacramento that afternoon around 2pm. Catch a San Joaquins train around 5pm that afternoon and you will arrive in Merced, CA at 7pm. Get a hotel in Merced and then either rent a car or take the YARTS bus into the park the next morning.
Basically about three full days. But what a trip it will be.
whoops! Yes that would be correct. Five days +. Sorry about the mixup in my post.Actually if you do all that you say, it isSee my post to your original post above

Day 1 - Leave Jacksonville
Day 2 - Arrive Washington - Leave Washington
Day 3 - Arrive Chicago - Leave Chicago
Day 4 - California Zephyr thru Denver & Reno
Day 5 - Arrive Sacramento - Leave Sacramento - Arrive Merced.
So to answer the Guest's question, it would take all or most of 5 full days from when you leave until you get to Merced and then another night before you can go to the park, after renting a car.
Heck - that's just time zone mismanagement!whoops! Yes that would be correct. Five days +. Sorry about the mixup in my post.
