This morning I tried to look up fares to bring a friend from Jackson, MS (JAN) to Moscone Center in San Francisco(SFM) where I could pick her up. I plugged in the station codes and it says:

Problem Finding Service: Sorry, we cannot find train service matching your request. Please try alternate stations/cities. To learn more about trains available at a particular station, please click on the 'Stations' tab above. [Error ID: 108A]
I tried Jackson to Chicago, where the two lines seem to meet, bringing the same result. What are the routes I would need to purchase tickets for in order to complete that journey?

The connecting Thruway bus for the California Zephyr does not serve Moscone Center. Ferry Building (the main SF "station"), Fisherman's Wharf, SF Shopping Center on Market, and the Caltrain stations are served by the CZ's connecting bus. Look on the back of the CZ schedule to see what San Francisco points are served.

Tried a sample reservation JAN-SFC (SF Ferry Building) and it went through fine.

Thank you zephyr!

I was about ready to put my fist through the screen when it rejected it for the fourth time.

Now why is it listed as a station when it doesn't serve it?

The Moscone Center is served by buses that connect with trains on the Capital Corridor between Sacramento, Oakland, and San Jose.

It may be possible for you to still book that bus by using the Multi-City booking function, but be warned that doing so could leave your friend sitting in the train station for several hours. Also, that won't be a guaranteed connection, so if the train is late and they miss the last bus to Moscone, they'd be stranded at the train station. By sticking with the bus that does come up for the Ferry Building, Wharf, Shopping Center, the bus will be there ready and waiting no matter what time the train arrives.

The buses to Moscone only connect with Capitol Corridor and San Joaquin trains.

However, ther are plenty throughout the day. So, if you cna get a ticket for one, the chances of having to wait several hours are nil unless you arrive late at night.
But the 5005 CZ connecting bus is guarantee and will be there no matter what happens, and is basically dedicated to the CZ. San Francisco isn't geographically large, and there are 4 separate stops. I'd just choose another stop.

However, the SF Shopping Center is at most three blocks from the stop at the Moscone Center. SF Shopping Center Stop is near the main door to the old or original center (practically across the street from the Powell Street cable car turn-around) and the Moscone Center stop is on the NE corner of 4th and Howard.

And unlike a lot of other three block walks in San Francisco, these are three near level blocks.
