I'll be boarding the eastbound, and I like to bring on my own beer and wine. Is there a shop walkable from the station?

There is a long commercial block right across from the station, with a few bars and restaurants. Don't know if California allows package sales from bars, though.

According to Google maps, there's a Safeway in town. Looks to be about .75 miles from the station.

Just be aware that you can only drink it onboard the train if you have a sleeper reservation. And then, only within your room.
