People are people. Sometimes they're having a great day and it shows -- and sometimes they're having a bad day and it shows. I do my best to nuance my response and avoid having a bad situation ruin my vacation. I've enjoyed all of my Amtrak trips, even those with an occasional grouch on the crew.

This is no defense for rudeness, but I've seen what Amtrak crews and airline personnel are obliged to tolerate from my fellow passengers. I sure couldn't do these jobs for more than an hour or two without pulling my hair out.
What he said. :)

What they both said works for me as well :giggle:

Not trying to say we can't have bad days but, when my daughter and I were on the Crescent headed to Pa. we had the best attendant. Well, this passenger got on in ATL,treated me like crap and treated the attendant bad,the lady thought she was the queen. She was snippy and had bad attitude. I'm saying this to say, sometimes if you treat the "Help",like the "Help" instead of people trying to make a living, you get that same chocolate pie that was served in the "Help". Not to say that sometimes Amtrak employees in good mood all the time, but sometimes we all have our days. Just my 2 cents.

My 2 1/2 cents worth agree. You most times get back what you give. Act bad, and you may be "treated bad". Act well, and there's a very good chance that you'll be treated well! Some of the most helpful SCAs are those who are not around if you don't need them, but show up when you do need them!
