Here's why you take the train in Chicago!

Plan to be in the station at rush hour if you want to see crowded. At the evening rush it is all most one way traffic going out to metro gates. I always plan to be outside to people watch at rush hour when we are in Chicago. Like ants to the hill, then they all dissapear underground.
Hey!!

I resemble that remark...I'm one of those ants who disappear underground to catch my train home!

I'd rather be riding than driving though!
Sorry FR1983. Looking back on it , you must have been that one good looking ant. :)

Sorry again FRJ1983 B)

MrFSS, where was that picture taken?

I've sat in some of those traffic jams. Fortunately, not very often. I have driven through major cities all over the country, but the Chicago highways scare the bjesus out of me and I won't drive them anymore.

I took that from the front window of a Blue Line train headed toward O'Hare on an afternoon when rush hour was going full blast. The Interstate is I-90-94 just before 94 splits off to head north toward Milwaukee.

If you look closely, you'll see car brake lights on as the traffic was stopped or moving slowly.
