This coming Sunday I will arrive at JFK at 12:50pm from an international trip. I then want to take Amtrak from JFK to BAL.

1. Is it possible for me to make the reservation for the same day once I land and know for sure I'm on time? (I don't want to make it now and then have some delay and lost my ticket and points)

2. Will there be tickets available for the 2:05pm or 3:05pm trains for that schedule on that day? (i.e., not sold out)

Getting from JFK to NYP off an International Flight on such a tight schedule, especially in the Summer, is iffy!

There are Regionals almost hourly out of NYP and 5pm and 6pm Acelas if you haven't experienced one and want to use the points. The Fares for next Sunday already are Mid to High Bucket ( $110-$255) and will probably rise, Sundays are popular on the NEC.

Since you want to use AGR Points, the Bucket doesn't really matter for the 2 and 1/2 hour ride?

I recommend booking a later train ASAP( 500pm or later) to give yourself a cushion and if you're running late @ JFK, call AGR and rebook for a later train.

Wouldn't it be better to book a later train than that since delays in arrival and problems getting a hold of AGR may make northnorthwest not be able to call in time. It is safer to try and rebook on the earlier train.
