I called up Continental OnePass this morning to transfer all possible Continental OnePass miles to AGR. The agent told me that while she might usually do one transfer to AGR every couple of days, she had already done half a dozen this morning.

I guess I'm not the only one uneasy about the United-Continental merger.

I'm not either!

I have been using CO basically as a "holding place" for AGR points, but since the CO/UA plans, I'm worried that the "new" UA may drop out overnight - just like the "old" UA did without warning!

So I transferred as much as I could (30K) out a few weeks back! My friend transferred 50K! I'm waiting for a few more miles to post and I'll transfer the remaining 5K out! My friend has another 5K to transfer also!

The official word is "Business as usual", but for how long?

Yikes. Are there any merger deadlines coming up soon, that might trigger a pull-the-plug? Or recent ammouncements? ((worry)

Nothing is official yet. They still have to get approval from many agencies to merge. But personally, I'm not waiting and taking chances!

Although they "promised" that it's still "business as normal", what's not to say that CO may not drop out of the transfer program overnight?

The old UA did just that!

I'm not saying these are the days, but on Oct 12, UA allowed transfers to/from AGR. On Oct 13, UA was out of the program - without any warning at all!

Many people got stuck with many thousands of (to them) unwanted AGR points!

As soon as my pending 500 OnePass miles post, I'll be over the 5K mark for transfer! Personally, I would rather lose 71 OnePass miles than to lose 35,071 OnePass miles!

I have only taken 3 one way flights since 2004! I'd much rather "fly" Amtrak!

You do have to call the OnePass Service Center in Houston to transfer CO->AGR! (There is no way to d it on line!

)

There is only a listed local number (713-952-1630), but unless you have free long distance or don't mind paying to hear 25 minutes of Musik while on hold, there is also a toll free number!

(They go to the same place!)

That number is 800-554-5522!

BTW - If you make the request by COB Friday, the points are in your AGR account on Sunday night/Monday morning! I did a transfer on Friday 7/2 @ 4 PM CT. It posted to my AGR account with a post date of 7/4!

thnx, I have to wait for some inter-continental transfers to happen first, as I'm 19 miles short of 5K

Ok, I have a question. I just opened the mail and I have my "new" CO Card. I activated it then realized the card was CO Plus. Is this the same card? Is this a different card than what I have been carrying with me since 2007? I really don't want a "new" card, but just a CC replacing the CO that I have now. Thanks!

A couple of weeks ago I received a mailing from Chase informing me about the new Continental Airlines OnePass Plus card that I'll soon be receiving. The mailing included a letter as well as a Membership Guide booklet. To quote from the letter, "Your newly designed OnePass Plus Card will be sent to you shortly ... When it arrives, please verify receipt by calling the number affixed to the front of the Card." Sounds to me like it replaces our old CO OnePass card. You could always call them at 800-432-7115 to be sure. Maybe call two or three times to make sure you get the same answer from each CS rep. ;) By the way, I haven't received my new OnePass Plus card yet. But the picture of it on the Membership Guide looks pretty. ;)

I don't think I'll be using mine much anymore since I've pretty much cleaned out my OnePass account of miles. Besides, right now I'm concentrating my credit card spending on my new Chase Sapphire Preferred card.
