I realized that I did make one error in my mention of O.B.S. holiday pay. They say an attendant is entitled to time and 1/2 for holidays. For the purpose of calculating holiday pay, the contract presumes an 8-hour day, even though O.B.S. personnel typically work many more hours than that. As a result, the holiday pay is calculated as an extra 4 hours' pay for working on the holiday, and that is the way it is paid. So in actual practice, the first 8 hours worked on a holiday are paid at time and 1/2, and any additional hours are paid at straight time.
