SAS is to distinguish it from the airport which is SAT
So how do you explain

Well traveler,since Im an old DC hand,you know how it is deciding on how to pick and decide

initials for places and things?I know that radio and tv stations have the same discepancies,perhaps

some long retired or dead govt. hand named something after his grandkid or like in Citizen Kane

had a secret "Rosebud",expecting the govt . to use common sense is like expecting AMTRAK to

meet ALL of our expectations,implement our ideas and give us free rides in BRs with freshly prepared

gourment meals,be on time or early for connections!Aint gonna happen but we can still Love it so!!

How about the grand daddy of them all~ MSY ~ for New Orleans. Probably got that name the day after Mardi Gras. Every year they rate how good Mardi gras was by the TONS of garbage that are picked up :lol:
Good one!Ive got a friend in NOL who says it either stands for "Mystery" or "Misery" since both could apply

to the Big Easy anytime!!! :lol:
