Mertoliner Car 9800

HEY HEY 2 FOR 1 On Phase 3!! :)

And I checked my AGR account. I did receive the extra 100 bonus points for PHL-BWI and WAS-PHL. BWI-WAS has NOT posted yet. It looks like it posted yesterday. 2 DAYS!!! After travel!! Boosting my total from 2102 to 2582. I do have to ask does one receive up to 1000 Amtrak Bonus TQP's and 1000 TQPs for Online Spending?? I was able to register for that promo with just over the 2100. I'm guessing the reason is the past 2 years is I've been about half way to select and just haven't made it. Any one have some type of insight on this??

Thanks and Enjoy the Photos,

Steve

No one mentioned Secaucus Junction yet. If you want to see an incredible number of trains, and the high density signaling system in action that is where you want to be. Amtrak and NJT trains at almost or better than subway frequency in most US systems, during rush hours 23 tph in the rush direction and about half that in the other direction, plus another 10 or so per hour at the lower level. This is probably the busiest through station which Amtrak trains pass through.

Another good one is Newark Airport which has somewhat less traffic but greater variety than Secaucus.

Alan has mentioned Rahway. The next station south (rr west) Metropark isn't too shabby either though frequency is less since NJCL trains branch off at Union past Rahway. In PA one of my recent favorites is Croydon with its new platforms.

Metro North Hudson Line has some spectacular locations. Check out any of the following stations: Riverdale, Peekskill, Breakneck Ridge (Summer only), Garrison (across from West Point), Cold Spring (near Storm King Mountain), Poughkeepsie, all with Metro North and Amtrak action with an occasional CSX or CP freight. Then there is Rhinecliff, and Albany isn't too bad.

Piotr's favorite Amsterdam is a bit inconvenient now since the station building is out of commission since the flood of Schoharie Creek last year. If you are going by car there are numerous locations along the CSX Water Level Route between Schenectady and Utica in the Mohawk Valley. My favorites are a couple near Fonda, the most flood prone location on that route. All of them have tremendous amount of CSX freight action and of course Amtrak. Utica itself has some Adirondack Scenic Railroad action too.
