Where would you go on Amtrak?

The prices right now westbound from Chicago in late April are the cheapest I have ever seen. If I go one day next week, I saw one for $400 with a family bedroom on the Zephyr from Chicago to Emeryville. The other days, a roomette for the same price. I could technically get someone to share the family bedroom with me. Any decent ladies around here that would want to go? But how do you check to find out if a potential roommate isn't a looney tunes psycho killer?
