Will my GPS (bought for the car) work on the train?

I use a Garmin Nuvi 760. And yes I took it on my Sunset Ltd trip to LA and up the coast to Tacoma. It works fine, just have it by a window. I clocked us one time at 82mph somewhere in Arizona.

Before leaving on a trip I program all the addresses of the stations that I will be going from or by. After boarding the train I enter the next station on the route.
