Wilmington to get late-night Philly SEPTA service

Could have used this in 2012 after the Gathering dinner, though at that time of night, the faster Amtrak was nice (plus double points).

I'll say. It's hard to envision a late-night departure being successful if the bulk of expected customers are late-night theater-goers.

I mean, how many people can there actually be who want to take the train from Philly to Wilmington to see a show on any given night?

That said, this post-midnight departure from Wilmington appears to simply be an extension of the existing inbound 12:40 a.m. train

from Marcus Hook. It's hard for me to imagine there's a lot of demand for an inbound departure from Marcus Hook at 12:40 a.m., so

maybe it functions primarily as a positioning run. Makes sense to start it in Wilmington which may actually generate some traffic.
