So they have enough staff and SSL's to run this but not to put the SSL on the Eagle? Kind of irritating

I would suggest you look at this thread to see abbreviations used here.SSL???
There's only one trainset used for this service, right? One daily out and back run.SSL???
Here's an excellent 30-minute documentary by local PBS covering the Ski Train's history and staff:
Nice video with some good history of skiing in Colorado and the ski train.I finally got a chance to watch the documentary, it was well done so thanks for posting it. Conductor Brad sure enjoyed his work.

It's very believable that they have only one available Sightseer Lounge.
Hopefully anywayThey are putting a Sightseer back on the Eagle in March so it’ll be a moot point.
Brad was one of the people who got this going. He was familiar with the previous versions of the ski train and wrote up a business plan for an Amtrak edition.I finally got a chance to watch the documentary, it was well done so thanks for posting it. Conductor Brad sure enjoyed his work.
We need more conductors (and any Amtrak staff really) like Brad.Brad was one of the people who got this going. He was familiar with the previous versions of the ski train and wrote up a business plan for an Amtrak edition.
Don’t really see any reason to doubt it. When they said they were putting the diner back on the City of New Orleans and Crescent this past year they pretty much followed through on it.Hopefully anyway
That doesn't make their words 2/2 though. There have been so many times we've been told traditional dining was coming back on trains and yet it hasn't.Don’t really see any reason to doubt it. Exactly. There have been rumors reported - but any of the ones where there have been official announcements have happened. Amtrak announced restoration to the Silvers and then that it would be expanded to the Capitol route with the Floridian and it indeed occurred. They have expressed a desire to restore it to the Eagle but included a funding caveat - but they have only said they would like to with sufficient funding so far not commitment has been made. When did Amtrak announce traditional dining on a train and then not restore it?
