Running on weekends would be great, but they probably would want more than the morning/evening commute-type schedule if they want to serve people wanting excursions, etc.
I wonder how many trains a day they would run all the way to Eugene?
They don't say how soon they expect to make these improvements but I would say they seem pretty ambitious. I remember riding WES from Beavertown to Wilsonville and it's not very far so this would be a big expansion for them.
from the pdf:
"The mission of the Westside Express Service Authority is to provide express
commuter rail service from the City of Beaverton to the City of Wilsonville and in the future
extend the service to the cities of Salem and Eugene. To accomplish its mission, the
Westside Express Service Authority shall:
(a) Operate the Westside Express Service;
(b) Enhance the frequency of the service;
(c) Study and support extending the service from the City of Wilsonville to the City of
Salem; and
(d) After the commuter line is extended to the City of Salem, extend the commuter ser-
vice to the City of Eugene."
