Nope, your shampoo should be just fine. ;)

all cars on palmetto had 19 rows?

The Palmetto typically has a mixture of Amfleet I and Amfleet II equipment. The legroom in the Palmetto's business class car is similar to that of an Amfleet II coach. I'm 6'3" and the legroom is very generous in that equipment. If you were in an Amfleet I coach, you'd have more of a squeeze...

    FRIDAY Server maintenance / downtime

There will be a couple hours of downtime during the day Friday for scheduled web site server maintenance. Don't be alarmed. :)

When is an available room not available

 Probably 1% or fewer of reservations involve a room number request.

Can Amtrak gift certificates buy points?

Amtrak gift certificates and Amtrak Vacations gift certificates are actually two separate things. Neither is valid for purchasing AGR points.

spk-atl through washington, dc booked as 2 zone redemption again

If you travel through the third zone, you('re supposed to) pay for the third zone.

Targeted: 1,000 bonus points for $500 spend, 4/1-6/30

Sounds like a Chase delay... I got that email a month ago.

Current Point Balance / What you Saving For?

Unlike some airlines, the points you earn at a given moment don't have specific expiration dates. As long as you have any paid Amtrak travel activity in your account once every 36 months, or if you have the Chase card, your points will never expire.

    AGR Zone Question

KCY to CBS via LAX and PDX would be two 2-zone redemptions, as this is a "circle trip" which cannot be accomplished using a single redemption (exiting and then re-entering the same zone).

    Reservation Question

Not possible that there were assigned seats in the reservation or printed by the computer on the ticket. Maybe they put their little sticker (the ones the station agents have printed on a big sheet, and then peel off for you) on the ticket, but the Amtrak reservation system has no current...

Make Rezzie W/ Points, Convert To "Paid" At Later Date?

A completely new reservation would have to be created, so the prevailing price at the time of the "conversion" would apply.

AutoTrain - Priority Vehicle Offloading available starting April 29

It no longer really matters -- the cost is the same.

    Companion Coupon Question

The Palmetto restriction on the upgrade coupons was lifted for 2013 and beyond. However, companion and upgrade coupons cannot be combined for the same reservation.

Using Select Plus coupons with Amtrak's NEC Regional rates

The $49 fare is absolutely compatible with the AGR upgrade coupons, and any agent who says otherwise is mistaken. Tell them to check the fare rules for the $49 fare in their system, and they will see a message that AGR upgrades are valid.

8000 Series not eligible for AGR?

Anything sold by Amtrak seems to get the 2X points, even onboard food purchases, so I doubt that would go away.

8000 Series not eligible for AGR?

I don't doubt at all that you were told that, but I would wait for an official communication or update either way on the AGR Web site before we accept this news as gospel.

    No Select Mailing Received

Kurt, if they processed a kit replacement request for you, it can take several weeks after that point for the kit to arrive. They are mailed in batches every couple of weeks and are not sent immediately upon request. Amtrak has a third-party vendor that produces the membership cards and kit...
