    That route is a BNSF line that is already operating at capacity. Only one UP diversion allowed each day, from what I heard. I doubt Amtrak will be able to secure that as an alternative.

    There is a time delay, as Amtrak doesn’t share real time location data for any of their trains with the public.

    If I remember right, that was close to the model that the Northern Pacific used, where the railroad used subsidiaries to generate traffic, mainly in the timber and agricultural industries.
