I also had Janice, although she told me to call her "Momma J" so I'm glad to know her first name. The Amtrak belt buckle clued me in. She was great and caring. Glad to see she is fighting for her pax to get the transdorm.

I was in the sleeper so I did not use the seats but given the 2-1 configuration they should be wider.......but the 2 seat pair in BC has an armrest that would prevent using both seats if one was not occupied.

If you have a SCA that goes by "Momma J" then you will be well taken care of. She was always walking the car, visible and if you kept your door open would pop her head in to see if you needed anything. If I remember correctly, she said she was a 37 year Amtrak veteran.
