Budd built 50 twenty one roomette cars, primarily for the PRR, the "Inn" series. Delivery started in 1949, by 1964 all were converted to coaches. Seems like the 38-42 capacity for an all roomette car may be on the high side.
I saw towels/washcloths wrapped in plastic on a shelf behind the main desk of the lounge. It looks like you need to get a passcode from the desk to enter the shower.
A staff member does not walk Met lounge passengers to the gate. The gate agents do know they are coming. At least this is the way it was two week ago when I boarded 30 from the lounge. Even though the gate agent knew we were coming she still held us back and announced boarding for "priority"...
I just got back today (2/26) from a RVR-CHI round trip. I took business class RVR-WAS. The seat pitch in business class is similar to, but not more than, Amfleet II coach. It has the foot rest but no leg rest.
I was wandering through youtube videos and came across the attached which appears to be the grade crossing in question just west of the Hammond station.
Fast forward to 1:15 to see the horn usage by the engineer. Seems to me the engineer used the horn to warn the photographer given his...
Good to hear, I'll be on 30 later this month. I wasn't so much worried about the train horn as I was the diesel fumes from the locomotive. A few years ago I was on 30 that had a regular sleeper subbing for the transdorm. The fumes were rather obnoxious.
Now I'm questioning my eyes given your pure data. Would a deadheading sleeper show on whatever report you saw? It was definitely 30 I saw on the rail cam.
The 3 sleepers were on the end so likely the extra sleeper was not the trans sleeper. Lately the CL has taken a few different configurations. A few days ago there was a single locomotive and a VL II baggage car but following it were the two coaches, diner, SL and two sleepers. I try to...
CL #30 consist evening of 1/23/17 on the Chesterton, In railcam was, front to back, two coaches, SL, CCC, two sleepers. Last night the SSL was behind the CCC and before the sleepers making me wonder how the CCC staff monitored sleeper traffic.
I will be arriving WAS on the Capitol Ltd. with a sleeper ticket then have a coach ticket on the Silver Star to RVR. I'm assuming since it is a same day ticket I can use the lounge to wait. Can I also board coach from the lounge? If so how does that work?
I'm used to boarding 29 from the...
This is my go to. I like the waist and sternum straps to keep it tight to the body when hiking so there is less chafing. The MOLLE web also allows for adding on a multitude of useful attachments...
I went to James Madison and will be heading to Fargo, ND to watch them play NDSU. Flying unfortunately. Hope to see JMU v EWU in the national championship game. Nice to see there are other FCS fans in the AU world.
