Does anyone have additional information today regarding the incident of 40, which departed Miami today (2/25) and was "stopped north of Okeechobee due to an unauthorized person on the tracks. Local emergency responders are on the scene working to complete an investigation."? It was held there for over two hours.

If it was a vehicle they would normally not have used the phrase “unauthorised person” I would think. Most likely a pedestrian/trespasser.
That was my thought, but I wasn't sure. They were careful not to release the information that there was a fatality, although it was not hard to draw that conclusion with the reference to "emergency services investigating"
I spoke to someone in Okeechobee, and they hadn't heard anything yet.

Release information on a fatality is discouraged by Amtrak if not forbidden.

No need to traumatize the passengers.
For details it's best to ask local railfans (including those who happen to also be railroaders). However, I don't see why one would need to know more than the fact that someone was hit.
