I like to be notified of any transaction, even small ones, because that's how fraudsters sometimes test the waters.
I'm between FNBO AGR Mastercards at the moment because a $1 parking charge in New Jersey was clearly fraudulent. Using my "backup" old Chase card in the meantime (the one issued after Chase lost the AGR contract, edges are peeling!), and hoping my new FNBO card comes in the Saturday mail!

A year and a half ago I was in Vermont with my wife, had gotten a call that my mother had died, and was trying to find a way back to Philadelphia from Burlington (because the Ethan Allen had been canceled and the Amtrak agents I talked to didn't know about the buses that could be booked through the Amtrak site), when I got a notice from the First National Bank of Omaha that my payment was almost due and hadn't been received yet. I didn't have time to pursue it and expected to be home the next day. On the FNBO website I found a setting to receive confirmation of payment, so I chose that. A few days ago I got another of those messages about payment not being received, but no message once payment had been received. I just looked at my settings on the FNBO site and payment acknowledgment was turned off, so I turned it back on again.
