Has anyone participated in the Samsonite 1,000 points online offer? In addition to the 1k offer they have a 15% discount on purchases over $100? Any pros or cons to this offer would be appreciated. Thanks.

I will answer my own question here and let you all know of my recent experience with the Samsonite offer. On November 7, I purchased an Aspire Spinner 25" Expandable bag. The 1,000 point offer posted to my account today 12/11. (The fine print mentioned 4-6 weeks). In addition to the 15% discount there was a no shipping cost offer that was available at the time of the order. Overall it was a painless experience and the luggage came in handy on my recent air/rail trip to California. I would recommend this offer.

Not much to mention in a form of a trip report. The thirty minute train ride to/from LAUS was uneventful. The Thruway bus to/from Bakersfield (BFD) was equally uneventful. I will say that the passenger count for the buses were healthy. My travel was performed during the Thanksgiving Day weekend.

I did the Samsonite offer once - and I think it was 1,000 points like you mentioned, plus maybe two points for every dollar. I was able to get a laptop case in leather, or at least it's faux leather, and it was a reasonable price. So that item and another item, a small travel backpack - were both on clearance or discounted very low, and the two combined put me over the $100 level or whatever was required for the points bonus.
