Select plus here... got into the lounge in NYC a few days ago with a $13.50 ticket... no problem .
I've been getting into lounges since I made Select Plus back in 2011, and before 2019 or so, you didn't even need a same day Amtrak ticket. I'd ride down to Washington early on the MARC train and hang out in the lounge for a half hour or so until it was time for me to go to work. Even now, I ride down on Amtrak ($15 or less ticket) and hang out in the lounge until my appointments. I've gotten into all the lounges, even Chicago, using Select Plus.Select plus here... got into the lounge in NYC a few days ago with a $13.50 ticket... no problem .
Yes, there are "lockers" (which don't lock .) Never had a problem finding an empty one at floor level, even on my last trip when the lounge was nearly full.Does the lounge in NYC have an option for storing luggage?
Nice trip, I used to do it often back when I could afford it( and AGR Reward trips were really affordable under the old AGR 1!!!)I arrived in LA on the TE/SL at 0445 a couple of weeks ago. The Lounge was open! A redcap drove me to the ticket office area, up in the elevator, and wow, cheerful helping employees. I did a bit of shuffling of dirties for cleans, and they took care of checking my big rolly bag for the next day's Coast Starlight. That left me with a backpack and a duffle, and they kindly kept an eye on them while I went to Philippe for breakfast. I finally got to ride the 421 sleeping car, Chicago to LA. I waved at Austin as I went by. Went out on the CS the next morning, with Philippe breakfast under my belt, and a lamb dip samwich in my bag. (I know the CS has real food, but I couldn't resist). Also, my friend took me to Langer's Deli for lunch, and I had a #19, Pastrami and Cole Slaw on rye. Wow!
