Can't get on.....
default_help.gif

I went to biketrain.net, the selected Amsnag Backup, when it opened it is 2.02. the other selections "Get Fares and "Fare Watch" are the older version which ends with a fatal error.

Version 2.02 works just fine for me, but the original version... http://biketrain.net/amsnag/amSnag.php ...is still down. I hope it comes up before any future fare increases because checking individual buckets using Version 2.02 is a real chore. ESPECIALLY when you're trying to verify all 333 individual buckets for the LD trains. Aaaarggghhh!!!

Now I get:

Resource Limit Is ReachedThe website is temporarily unable to service your request as it exceeded resource limit. Please try again later.
Probably because someone is "trying to verify all 333 individual buckets for the LD trains"

Now I get:

Resource Limit Is ReachedThe website is temporarily unable to service your request as it exceeded resource limit. Please try again later.
That's the same thing I get now, and I've only made two AmSnag queries today!

I don't think very many here understand that it only takes 15 AmSnag queries to make spot checks on the 333 individual buckets for all the LD routes.

Carry on.

I've been having difficulty with the site when I check a block of dates over the number of 15. It seems to time out but the speed of my laptop could be the cause. Also cannot check any bedroom prices with it. Shows coach and roomette only

The original version ( http://biketrain.net/amsnag/amSnag.php ) works some of the time, but when doing a query just now for CHI to LAX for 30 days starting today it stops after two individual checks and displays...

Query failed: insert into result (sessId,con,seg,train,depSta,depTime,DepDate,arrSta,arrTime,arrDate, date,base,coach,roomette,bedroom,family,BCFC,sortkey) values (152302209666,1,1,'3 Southwest Chief','Chicago, IL',' 3:00 PM','2018-04-07', 'Los Angeles, CA',' 8:15 AM','2018-04-09', '2018-04-07',' .00','r Availability -->

Error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'Rail']/tripJourneyTariffAvailability/journeyTariffAvailability/@trainsSortedBy" ' at line 4

...but it works OK starting 2 days hence (June 8th). Can't explain why, but I've a hunch it quits when it finds a train that's sold out. But my hunches are seldom correct.

The program requeries the website for each day, thus restarting the clock. So if you get one day, you should get them all. Could you PM me a screen shot of the problem if it reoccurs. I just tried a 20 day request and it ran successfully, taking 1 second per day.

For connections of more than two segments, I have been able find only the all coach and default premium option (usually roomette). There is a footnote to that effect on the output screen.

Since one can book any of the options with a browser, they must be hiding somewhere. If anyone knows where, I would love to hear about it.

Close, but no cigar! The "Canceled" in the error message is the clue. I'll see what I can do.
