I think the H room is the right answer. Here is a pic from the opposite direction...

Also, if you think about it, if it were a roomette, you would be able to see the door wall on the right side of the picture.

Thanks alanh.

Here again a roomette in 3 different interactive 360 degrees views:

and a family bedroom

maybe it is really an "improved" picture of Amtrak combining some facts of both. And indeed the door wall would be just in the way to take that pict.

No, I think it is the H bedroom. I assume there is no 360 view of that room to compare. But looking at the pic I posted convinced me that it is indeed the H room.

The picture shows a sliding door & steps to the left. Only Superliner roomettes have this feature. The H & family bedrooms have regular doors-not sliders. They also don't close off from the rest of the bedroom with a door. The H bedroom has a curtain that goes around the toilet & sink. All other bedrooms & roomettes have sliding doors. I think they just doctored the window in the picture. You can even see the latch of the door on the left. Also the family bedroom is shorter in depth than a roomette. That would be the Children's beds, in the picture it doesn't look that short. It looks normal length for a roomette.

Did you look at the Amtrak website link I gave? While you cannot see around the corner to the steps on the virtual bedroom links, the latch is clearly visible. If you look at the 3D tour, it clearly shows the steps provided like the roomettes. So I believe you are incorrect to say that steps to the left are only in roomettes. I am happy to be corrected, but the evidence to me says this is the H room. Perhaps someone will reply who has been in an H room.

Sorry we must have been typing at the same time!!! I stand corrected, there are steps in the H room. I was unable to pull up the 3d tour but did look at the virtual tour. I have seen both rooms in person, even though we have not stayed in them. I do know neither room has a sliding door. You can look at any of wkaemena's 360 downstairs views to notice that. In fact, I have seen threads mentioning people accidentally walking into both the H and family bedroom, mistaking them for bathrooms because they have regular doors, just like the bathrooms.

I agree that the H room has no sliding door. I do not see any sliding door in the picture. I see a wall with a latch. I do not know what the latch is for, but it does not show a sliding door. That same latch shows in the virtual tour of the H room.

Maybe you are correct that it's the H room. What was throwing me was the latch & the wall angle. It really looks like a roomette. The H bedroom is slightly deeper on seat side-6'9" vs 6'6" for a roomette. I thought sure that there's no sliding door, maybe I'm wrong there too!

Maybe the latch is to hold the door in the 'open' position?

The H-room's door most certainly does slide; in fact it slides into the wall behind the H-room's toilet and between the public bathroom next to the public shower. This can even be confirmed with a report by SueB regarding her adventures last fall where the door wouldn't fully slide into the wall and therefore she was unable to get her son into the room and had to be moved to the H-room in the Trans/Dorm instead.

The only room with a swinging door is the Family room. All other doors on the Superliner rooms slide into the wall to open.
