Way back in 1964, Kitty Genovese was attacked and murdered in NY.
30'some people nearby did nothing.
Sad to see that the SEPTA passengers did not do better in this case.
At least this woman survived.

If I was there I wouldn't have let that stand. Since I've become a flight attendant I carry handcuffs in my camera bag and I would have happily whipped them out and handcuffed him to a chair. And on the train I can handcuff him to the chair without worrying about what the FAA and the company think about it. We shouldn't tolerate this crap.

This situation happened in an SVU episode in one of the earlier seasons. It's a shame how crappy people can be.
