Amtrak's website is unclear and I am sure I will get an answer here quicker then it would to mail Amtrak.

If I am a sleeping car passenger for the Capitol Limited, boarding in Washington to Chicago; and on that same day I am taking a Northeast regional from NY to WAS, can I use ClubAcela in NY? I know I can in Washington, but what about in New York-Penn?

NYP Club Acela: A very pleasant venue! Friendly, helpful attendants, clean restrooms, a nice selection of snacks after Noon or pastries before Noon along with a well monitored beverage counter. Use the Red Cap Service from Club Acela and your baggage and you will be aboard your train much more quickly than otherwise.

They're actually not **that** bad. I've used them on numerous occasions and they were most of the time acceptable. Much better than I expected, that's for certain.

"One advantage of select plus is using lounge restrooms in Chicago and NYP"

I'd agree to a point. Chicago lounge restroom facilities = small - one stall. At least after my complaining someone got around to fixing lock on that stall door. In Winter if you want to escape the oven - heated lounge - go to Men's restroom stall - always an icebox. Facilities all around Chicago Union Station do not meet restroom demand. Lounge is same situation when it gets busy - but normally cleaner than general boarding / station restrooms.

Keep in mind in Chicago and other lounges = Business Class riders get lounge access. Perk just recently added for Chicago lounge a few years back.

St Louis First Class Lounge is still off limits to BC passengers. Unless you have a pass, SELECT+ or a Sleeper ticket holder.

Club Acela in the NEC is also not open for Business Class travelers. That perk is only for "Metropolitan" branded lounges.

Heh! If the New York Club Acela was opened for BC passengers they'd have to take over the entire Rotunda area and build a new Club Acela there to accommodate the hoards that will become eligible to use the Club! :)
