Coach from Chicago to where?

I’m planning a trip to Chicago in September and I would like to use some points to go to a second destination. I would rather coach during the day, because my husband does not like the roomettes, I make him sleep on the top lol. I don’t have enough points for a bedroom. Is there a train that goes from Chicago to any place during the day where I can travel coach and then maybe spend a couple of days in that location? TIA

Most of the Amtrak lines radiating from Chicago have daytime coach service. You can go to Milwaukee, Quincy, St. Louis, Carbondale, Grand Rapids, Detroit, Indianapolis, and places in between, and maybe some I've forgotten.

St Louis is good. Lower hotel prices and a ride on the higher speed trackage. Carbondale is a good day trip.
