FWIWThe Lake Shore is not operated push-pull. The consist is turned at both ends, wyed in Chicago and turned on Sunnyside's loop in New York.
It always faces "forward" whatever that means.
Ah - er the locomotive aka engine will always be in the front of the train - except at Union Station briefly backing the empty consist
into whatever track in assigned for departure.
Upon arrival at Union Station the locomotive should be first into the station and after passengers are unloaded the consist can
be WYED (better timely operation for the customer) Wying the train before arrival defeats customer service - think delays !!!
