LAX Baggage Service Question

I just received an email form my Wednesday train trip to San Diego that there is no baggage service available that day. Why might that be?

Could you give us more specific on which stations you'll be boarding, transfer, and arriving stations? Some stations are unstaffed so that means no one is available to handle checked baggage from baggage car to station checked baggage area.

I believe on some runs, the trains are cancelled but are being substituted by buses. Thus, they can not offer checked baggage service to those stations - even though all baggage is put in the luggage hold of the bus.
