But if they remove checked baggage from many of the stations, how do the bikes end up in there safely?

Same with bicycles (where else would you stow a bicyccle if you're travelling,say, LD in a sleeper?)

If you're riding business class, you have to walk to the opposite end of the train to get to your seat. Not a problem.

Great! The Business Class passenger has to walk through all the coach cars carrying any hand-carried luggage and possibly any big bags when they board at an unstaffed station? That will encourage being a high-paying customer - NOT!

And I imagine the sleeper passenger would love it even more.
