On the Meteor, I ran into a red bar blocking the doorway to the cafe car from coach while the engine was being changed at WAS. I had detrained from my sleeper for a walk down the platform, and when I got too chilly I decided to board in coach and walk back to my room through the train.

I don't know whether that barricade is deployed when the cafe is closed en route, or was just being used because the power was off.
What did you do? Did you just walk back outside or did you wait for them to remove it?

I know they do that on the cafe/bc car during the power change at Albany on the Maple Leaf.

Since the cafe/BC vestibule is usually closed, I just reboard through the Amfleet I's rear vestibule and lift the barricade to get back into BC.

I ducked under it. A crew member on the platform yelled at me that the cafe was closed, and I told him I was just trying to get back to my sleeper. He was OK with that.

I didn't know you could do that!

It's really annoying that when cafes are close they're just like nobody in here! Like.. let people use the tables please. And of course the first instinct was to yell instead of just.. tell.
