You are correct. I was in the NYP Acela Lounge less than a month ago. It's on the skids for refreshment. There were sodas in a refrigerator that wasn't even cool, and no ice was in sight. That equipment went kaput with the removal of the fountain soda machine. What was in abundance?: giant candy bars and pretzels. The furniture was new. This was good because the old upholstery had gotten too soft. Perhaps fixing the soda set up is next for NYP. I've been in t he Chicago Lounge and like it. It's a good place to layover (for me it can be up to 12 hours between the usually late westbound Lake Shore Limited and the southbound City of New Orleans.
I think I'll make time to check out the Boston Lounge. The irony is that Boston is my home city so when leaving town, I arrive just in time to hang out about 15 - 30 minutes and then go to the train. Then when I return, I go home.
