I am going to take a trip to NYC this weekend. Originally, it was going to be a day trip. However, I discovered a hotel deal too good to pass up, so I have decided to make it an overnight trip. Therefore, I am going to need to modify my Amtrak reservation to a train that leaves NYP Sunday morning for ELT. I can either take a Keystone train or the Pennsylvanian. Any suggestions?

Pick the one that offers the best combination of schedule and price. If the presence of a cafe car is enough to sway you, then you

probably didn't need to ask the question in the first place. :)

Also, I've noticed the fare on the Pennsylvanian is higher to travel the same distance. There are a couple Keystones that leave earlier at the same price I was paying originally to go back that Saturday night.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm taking the Keystone. This way, I won't have to pay extra for the trip home.

I've never had that experience with Amfleet II's on the Pennsy, but I always board either in Philly or LNC - never in NYP. I always get on and just go to a car I feel like going to - but that might indeed be different WB from NYP.

Right now, Hilton Hotel Brands have low room rates, but just for a short period. Most likely because it has been so cold and not many people have visited the city.

There are a few Hilton Family hotels within walking distance of Penn Station.

Makes sense. This is the slowest time of year in places like NYC & Chicago. You get the best deals, but there's a reason for it. Demand will obviously skyrocket again in the late spring & summer.
