I'm not exactly sure of the county names, but I think there are 3 or 4 counties in IN (on that line) that are CT also.

I've been called an SOB many times!

But I'd really hate to be an SOB from SOB!

Where exactly does the time change between Eastern to Central happen between SOB and CHI? Does anyone know or have a general idea? I'm just curious.
It occurs when you pass from St. Joseph county to LaPorte county at New Carlisle, IN. That is about 14 miles west of South Bend.

Same thing occurs when you cross over from Michigan (which is in the Eastern Time Zone) into Indiana (in the Central Time Zone) or vice-versa. Been through that in 2009 twice, first on train #351 (which was between Kalamazoo and Chicago) and again heading back on train #350 (the train was between Michigan City and Niles).

How about SOL??
It makes you wonder if Amtrak thinks about these abbreviations?? :eek:hboy:

Some of the airport codes are just as good. My own personal favorite: SUX, the code for Sioux City, IA.
