I had a couple of segments that had not been posted to my agr account which were nearing the 90 day point of no return. I had used the request form on agr site TWICE with no result and no response at all.

I remembered that an agr rep once told me fax was the best thing since they get fewer of those than anything else. The 800 number Alan has in the 'contact info' post apparently doesn't work any more. In another post lower in the same thread I saw another fax # (215-856-7708) which I used to send them a pfd file of my ticket stubs. Less than 24 hrs later the points have posted to my account.

I'm also missing some points from a purchase from Priceline. I think the hotel may have flubbed it in a cancelation and rebooking so I'm not going to hassle agr about that one.

My advice for the hotel points would be to call the hotel (chain?). Both Hyatt and Hilton messed up in posting points. I called them and Hyatt actually credited me points from a stay that was several months previous. Hilton didn't, but points for my next stay did post. So IMHO it is best to call the hotels and make sure everyone 'is on the same page,' even if it is for your next stay.

My understanding is that if your points don't post, it's because something happened and the conductor didn't submit the tickets for processing. That means that you can submit the points request online until you are blue in the face, but they won't give you the points unless you fax or mail in a ticket stub. At least this is what two AGR reps told me a few months ago when I was trying to get some points to post.

I can assure you that I've had the online request work a few times and I've had it fail a few times. It just seems to depend; on what I have no idea.

Have you (or anyone) ever gotten points from a Priceline hotel purchase? I've booked flights with Priceline before, and it states that the segments flown are not eligible for frequent flyer miles (and I didn't get them despite showing them my frequent flier card); I was curious whether or not the hotel stays had the same stipulation. If there's been success in the past with getting the hotel points, then I'm going to start using them to book all my hotels!

Sorry to hijack the post, but my curiousity made me do it....

I have gotten points from Priceline for hotel stays. I have never booked a flight through them.

Well, like everything else at amtrak, it seems like the information you get on the phone depends on the rep. No surprise there. :) Thanks for clarifying.

Yes, I've had very good luck getting points from hotel purchases on Priceline to post. I don't think I've ever had a problem actually.
