They used to be the bedroom for three, aka a drawing room.
There are pretty much no longer Drawing Rooms (VIA-speak "Cabin for 3") on the Canadian at all. It runs with a "Prestige Park" car where the Drawing Room and Double Bedrooms have been removed in favor of a Prestige room and an Accessible room. Sleeper Plus is exclusively supported by Manor series sleepers that never had Drawing Rooms. Very occasionally an non-Prestige Chateau used to show up when hard up for cars, but I haven't seen one in revenue service for a long time and summer consists are a bit shorter than they were pre-COVID. They used to run Chateaus as crew cars (the SM got the Drawing Room), but the last couple years even those have been Manors.

I was fortunate to be in one when they were still on the Ocean run.

Thanks for the replies …a drawing room in an Ocean Chateau car is another possibility.🙂
Chateaus are not always on it, but are increasingly common as they are more reliable than the Renaissance cars.

I did a random check, choosing the 10/23 Montreal departure and it does indeed have Chateaus on that date, since berths, Cabins for 1, HEP Cabins for 2, and Cabins for 3 are available.

I am fortunate. My girlfriend has shown interest in riding the Canadian, so yesterday, I booked a cabin for two and got room F in the 112 car. I did ask for a cabin for two close to the park car.

I googled summertime consist for the Canadian and only got something that was a few years old. I was hoping to get an updated consist.

One thing I learned from this process is that people from the United. States need to advise their bank that they are making a charge in Canada so that it is not declined. Then, you must punch the credit card number into the phone rather than verbally tell the agent. I discovered that this does not go through when using the speaker phone. These are not complaints. I am hoping that others can save time when making your booking.

The other annoying discovery was that they completely mistyped my girlfriend's last name. When I booked yesterday, I told them Winston was like the cigarette. I also spelled it out. I got the email today, and her last name was misspelled as Watson. So now I am on hold for the third time this morning. I am glad I have back-to-back preps to get this all sorted out. Each time, I have been on hold for 15 or more minutes. This last time, the hold time was 9 minutes. The agent quickly corrected it, and an email was sent immediately.

Like Amtrak tickets, they can be added to Apple Wallet.

I got an answer to my own question from VIA. The 12 car will be 5 cars from the Park car.
If they don't reverse the car line numbering for the summer consist you will be at least 6 cars from the Park in the summer consist, two Prestige Chateaus, diner, Skyline, 10 sleeper, 11 sleeper.

If they do the car line numbering reversal for summer as has happened the last few years, you will be a heck of a lot further. In that case, 12 ought to be car just ahead of the second Sleeper Plus Skyline. So...Skyline, diner, crew sleeper, 5 revenue sleepers, Skyline, diner, 2 Prestige sleepers, and finally, the Park.

12 is 5 cars from the Park in the winter consist now running. It's at least one car (another Prestige Chateau) more in the summer and that is just if they do not do their customary car line numbering reversal.
